The One City Art Festival is an annual city-wide celebration of the visual arts that started in 2013. This year’s festival will be bigger and better than the first, thanks to the work of nine participating art organizations: Tubman African American Museum, Macon Arts Alliance, Middle Georgia Art Association, Contemporary Arts Exchange, Museum of Arts and Sciences, Georgia Art Education Association, Macon-Bibb County Parks & Recreation, The 567 Center for Renewal and Macon Film Festival. We’re also excited to announce for this year that Middle Georgia State College will be the first-ever presenting sponsor for the event.
The One City Art Festival consists of special exhibits and programming presented by each of the nine partner organizations, as well as four local businesses, over the course of the four-day event. In addition, the festival features a pop-up gallery. The pop-up gallery will transform a historic downtown property currently not in use into a temporary art space. The pop-up gallery will highlight both the art that is in it, and one of the beautiful buildings available in downtown Macon.
As the 2014 One City Festival approaches, we will be continually updating this website with pictures of artwork from the exhibits, additional events, and more details about the pop-up gallery. Check back soon to see what’s new!
